See Events page for all the info. - still a few places left!

This is one of my Liturgical Stole projects last year. I had fun creating the coconuts and palm leaf with free motion stitching and my new couching foot.

Starting with a sketch, I make a template copy then transfer the image onto the fabric tracing from my template copy. I used some white felt to begin with and stitched over it to create the white coconut flesh.

Then I used some lovely wool to create the outside of the coconut shell,
it has variation in the colour which worked perfectly!

I used my new couching foot which brings the wool through from the back of the sewing machine, and then gets stitched over by the thread as you guide it around.

This is my sample one, always do a sample first!

I went on to create the coconuts.

Adding the texture and features to bring it to life.
Using a silver and white mixed thread to add sparkle.

Added some splashes

Then continued to the palm leaf at the shoulder.
This was free motion stitching on my Janome 1600P - love that machine!
I drew the leaf outline first and then stitched over it using this beautiful variegated thread. Gutermann Natural Cotton Thread 800m (876yds) #9994, Variegated Foliage Green

And the cross in the middle came from https://churchstores.com.au/
I just stitched it onto the stole.

I added the gold chain with clasp at the side to be adjustable

Finished and ready in the box!
I found these lovely cookie boxes to use for displaying my artwork on the stoles.
They fold up and sit in there just right!

Here's Lofa trying on her new stole.

I do take orders with half payment up front.
Price depends on the order - contact me to discuss if you would like to have one made.
I also just do the artwork if you have a stole already.

February Already! Market on Saturday - Cancelled . . . busy, busy

Hi Everyone!
Welcome to February.

I went to a Jewellery workshop last Saturday to learn more about
designing statement earrings to suit the shape of your face.
Workshop was run by the lovely Christine Smalley from https://etelage.com/

It was a lot of fun and I created three sets of earrings!
Amazing I know, in under 2 hours, design and create.
Nothing like a bit of pressure to get things done.

And had to fit in the yummy Brownies and strawberries too!

I love the finished pieces and plan to make more like these to sell,
so if you are interested in any or a different colour, send me an email.

I've also been busy making more cards for sale on the weekend.
Some examples here using various sets in the
Sale.A.Bration catalogue and the Handmade Just For You Mini catalogue
and also a few bits from the Annual Catalogue.
If you would like the specific details of any of them
please send me an email and I will fill you in.

These cards are made using the
Honey Bee Bundle
in the
Sale.A.Bration
catalogue

And I also made a gorgeous Japanese Knot Bag,
a bigger one than last time, and I love the way it turned out!

I used cotton batting to pad it out and quilted it in the patterned bits.

Small zip pocket inside for your keys or lipstick as well.

The size fits my drink bottle in it, shown here on my chair.

Well it's bedtime now, Got to go and get some sleep ready for more creating tomorrow.

or come and see me at the stall on Saturday
to have a look and have a chat.
